Obvious conclusion: the > term is toast. What kind of terminal is it that you have? I wasn't aware that you could attach an X-terminal to the serial port. If your Windows machine is close enough to the RS6K, attach the serial cable from S1 (make sure you're using S1) to a free serial port on the PC and test it out with some terminal program. I recall having a deuce of a time getting it to work with Hyperterminal, but I also had tremendous troubles with using a cable that I *thought* was the right kind. Even with the right cable it can be a nightmare of making certain all the settings are correct: 9600, n-8-1, flow control: cts & rts, no xon/xoff are my settings in TE/2 on OS/2. It's imperative that you set the speed to 9600, not "highest possible" or whatever. You can reset this (in SMIT IIRC), but it almost certainly will only talk to a terminal or terminal emulator at 9600 baud. And no, I don't have a spare graphics adapter. The one I have is the only one I've got. Sorry if this info is too basic. Hope it helps. Steve -- Steven M. Scotten <s@p90.net>
